Disney Channel’s “Zombies” Star Carla Jeffery Dies at 33

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Carla Jeffery, the actress who played Bree, the beloved cheerleader in the 2018 Disney Channel original movie Zombies and its spin-offs, passed away on September 1 at the age of 33.

Her talent agency, Alexander’s Talent Management, confirmed her passing in a post on Instagram, though no details regarding the cause of death were provided.

In its statement, the agency wrote: “Our hearts are broken over the loss of our dear Carla Jeffery. For over 20 years, Carla was part of the Alexander’s Talent Management family, and watching her grow from a talented young girl into a beautiful, passionate woman and accomplished actress was a great honor for us. We will always remember her captivating smile, laughter, talent, and the beautiful light she brought wherever she went.”

The statement continued: “Our deepest condolences go out to Carla’s family and loved ones. We kindly ask everyone to respect her family’s privacy during this extremely difficult time. Rest in peace, Carla. You will always be fondly remembered and loved.”

Jeffery reprised her role as Bree, the high-energy cheerleader and best friend to the character Addison, in Zombies 2 and Zombies 3, and most recently voiced the character in the animated series Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.

Prior to her breakout in the Zombies franchise, Jeffery made guest appearances on series such as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Uncle Buck, and American Vandal. She also appeared in 10 episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm as Keisha Black and played Janilla in the police drama Southland.

Born in Houston, she was the twin sister of Carlon Jeffery, who starred in the Disney Channel series A.N.T. Farm. Carla Jeffery began her acting career at the age of 12, appearing in the film Phat Girlz alongside Mo’Nique.
